Sourced from the pristine Arctic waters
At the heart of PreCardix® is the Pandalus borealis, commonly known as the Northern Shrimp. This remarkable species thrives in the cold, clean waters of the Arctic Ocean, where it has adapted to some of the harshest conditions on the planet. It is the shells of these resilient shrimp that serve as the unique raw material for PreCardix®. Rich in bioactive marine peptides, these shells provide the essential ingredients that make our product so effective in supporting heart health.
Our raw material, the northern shrimp (Pandalus borealis), is found in pristine waters above 79° North.

Our history
In 1968 Stella Polaris AS (the name literally means ‘North Star’ in Latin) was founded in the fishing village of Karvikhamm in Norway, high within the Arctic circle.
Over the next fifty years, this family-run company grew from a small fishing port into a global leader in premium, sustainable cold-water shrimp production. Though environmental stewardship was paramount to the company, the shrimp shells, discarded during production resulted in undesirable waste. In 2007 Stella Polaris established Marealis AS, a Norwegian biotech company committed to converting what was once a waste by-product into potent bioactive marine peptides with a significant cardiovascular health benefit.
In 2018 PreCardix® was introduced to Canada, under the guidance and leadership of a global collective of researchers, business leaders and scientists dedicated to finding a natural, sustainable and effective solution to the growing global blood pressure health crisis.
Early in 2024, PreCardix® also launched in the United States of America, with the same guidance and leadership ready to reach as many communities affected by the world’s biggest health issues with naturally, sustainably, and scientifically backed, innovative products.
